Madonna Treadway

Madonna Treadway is an author, speaker, and guide for women and men who are healing and want to transform their grief. After years of ignoring her own grief and trauma, Treadway found the courage to claim her voice, accept the pain and explore the gifts of her early loss.

Her book Six Healing Questions, A Gentle Path to Facing Childhood Loss of a Parent is a sensitive and pragmatic guide that benefits anyone traveling through grief. Treadway inspires curiosity and investigation of one’s own unique story, and she offers hope as you move through grief toward a richer life.

She shares short intimate accounts of her own story of the loss of her parents before the age of eight. She takes you by the hand, asks gentle questions, and provides tangible tools and easy-to-understand research that will help as you both grieve and heal. Treadway has walked the unusual and difficult path of healing her grief and offers unique insight and guidance for anyone on this journey.

For the last twenty years, Madonna (BS, MBA) has owned an ongoing speaking and consulting business with her husband, Bob. She loves to paint with abandon and has a passion for her loving animal companions. She continues to look for ways that writing and creativity will support others who have experienced traumatic loss.

Treadway was a winner of the San Diego Memoir Writers Association’s 2018 Memoir Showcase, which featured her story. Her work is featured in the award winning 2019 anthology Shaking the Tree Volume Two: brazen. short. memoir. She was featured on a panel at the San Diego Writers Festival in 2018.

Currently Six Healing Questions, A Gentle Path to Facing Childhood Loss of a Parent is a Finalist in the Foreword Indies Book Awards in the category of Grief and Grieving. It is also a Finalist in several categories of Eric Hoffer Book Awards, one of which is for the Montaigne Medal that is awarded to the most thought-provoking books.
